I propel Stacked Wonky. It reflects half a lifetime’s work spent with incredible people questioning what we might build together. It has no clear outline. Someone once described a House of Wonky rich with moving doors and visitors, yet always a clear welcome.
Vitally, it begins with performance making. When I’m working with a team and kids to create, fundamentally I know why I’m here.
In 1999, aged 29, I joined the dance world. Soon after, Stacked Wonky was born. I was supposed to have been a physicist or an academic, yet I’m doing this.
From London to Somerset, our journeys have been intricately linked, particularly when my kids were born and I sought to understand how to involve youngsters in every aspect of performance-making.
I love Stacked Wonky because it represents my bravest moment.
